Detailed Investigation of Stochastic Beam Cooling Electrodes

چکیده

Η Member of the Graduiertenkolleg (DFG GK-GRK 410/1) In the new GSI project Stochastic Cooling of secondary particles will be an important technical element. Therefore, the devices –the electrodes– interacting between beam and the electronics assembly have been studied. The investigation is done via a three dimensional numerical electromagnetic field analysis with use of the simulation package “CST Microwave Studio” [1]. This simulation uses the reciprocity theorem of the antenna theory. Thus, the electrodes are calculated only as kickers and the pick-up behaviour will result from this. The parameter to be optimised is ∫ S dω / √L, where L is the physical length of the structure and S is defined by [2].
